Stage 01 / 05

Consultation

An initial one-on-one appointment, in person or remotely. We discuss design direction, preferred stones and metals, budget and timeline. The aim is clarity, not pressure. Bring whatever you have — a photograph, a stone, or a piece you keep returning to.

Stage 02 / 05

Gemstone and Design Options

The stone sets the direction. We hold more than 250 hand-selected gemstones in the studio, with new stones added every week, and can always source more — or a specific stone — through our extensive network of merchants abroad. Stones can also be cut to order.

We work with coloured gemstones — sapphire, garnet, spinel, emerald and tourmaline among them — and with both mined and lab-grown diamonds. Inclusions and subtle variations in colour are treated as part of a stone's individuality, not as faults. Settings, proportion and alloy are decided alongside the stone rather than after it.

Stage 03 / 05

CAD and Approval

For a new design you will receive a CAD render for approval, so the ring can be seen and adjusted before any metal is cut. One revision is included. Engagement commissions are treated more flexibly than standard bespoke work, with room for further discussion as the design settles. A deposit confirms your commission and secures your place in production; the balance follows.

Stage 04 / 05

Crafting

Once the design is approved, the ring is hand-forged in the Melbourne studio using traditional techniques. Rings are made in Argentium 935 silver, 9ct, 14ct or 18ct gold in yellow, pink or white, and platinum 950 — all nickel-free. With the exception of our chains, all gold we use is derived from Australian sources. No two pieces are the same.

Stage 05 / 05

Collection

After a final fitting the ring is polished, engraved if you wish, and presented in a handmade box. Engraving is complimentary. Collection from the studio or secure express delivery is arranged to suit.
