Repurposing Old Jewellery

AGOVIA Fine Metal Exchange Terms and Conditions

The AGOVIA Fine Metal Exchange Program reflects our commitment to circularity, longevity and the respectful use of precious materials. These terms outline how the program works and what you can expect when you submit your jewellery.

1. Eligibility

We accept most forms of solid gold jewellery including pieces in nine carat, fourteen carat, eighteen carat and twenty two carat gold. This includes broken jewellery, worn jewellery, mismatched pieces and items you no longer wear.

We cannot accept jewellery that is gold plated, gold filled, vermeil, brass, copper, stainless steel, titanium or any mixed metal. All items must be genuine gold.

2. Valuation

Your valuation is based on:

  • The purity of the gold, measured in carat
  • The live gold spot price on the day your item is received

You will receive a clear outline showing the weight of the gold, the calculated value, the refinement fee and the final amount of AGOVIA store credit.

3. Refinement Fee

A refinement fee of seven percent applies to all items processed through the program. This fee covers the cost of metal testing, refining and handling.

After this deduction, ninety three percent of the gold value is issued as AGOVIA store credit.

4. Store Credit

  • Store credit is issued after your gold has been refined and liquidated
  • Store credit cannot be redeemed for cash
  • Store credit does not expire
  • Store credit can be used toward any AGOVIA piece, including bespoke jewellery

Your jewellery is not melted down or transformed into your new piece. Instead, the value of the gold is credited toward your next AGOVIA creation.

5. Stones and Gemstone Removal

If your jewellery contains stones, you may request to have them removed before refinement takes place.

Please note the following:

  • Damaged stones, low value stones and miscellaneous stones will be discarded unless you request that they are returned
  • Removing stones carries unavoidable risks
  • AGOVIA is not responsible for chips, fractures or breakage of stones during removal
  • Any stones returned will be supplied loose

6. Non Return of Jewellery

Once your jewellery has been submitted and all required documentation has been signed, the item cannot be returned. After approval is given, the jewellery enters the refinement process and cannot be retrieved.

7. Ownership and Compliance

By submitting jewellery, you confirm that you are the legal owner of the item. AGOVIA may request proof of ownership or decline items that appear unsafe, counterfeit or improperly described.

8. Client Responsibility

By taking part in the program, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Valuation is dependent on market conditions at the time your item is received
  • Refinement cannot be reversed once approval is given
  • Gemstone removal carries unavoidable risks
  • Store credit is non refundable and cannot be redeemed for cash

9. Approval Process

You will receive a valuation summary. Refinement begins only once you provide written approval.
